Author Julie Pellissier-Lush

Retromedia Publishing learned today that Julie Pellissier-Lush’s popular book My Mi’kmaq Mother has been selected to be included in the Canadian Aboriginal Books for Schools Catalogue 2010-2011 edition. The books were chosen by a committtee of librarians and the distribution of the catalogue will be handled by the Association of Book Publishers of B.C.

The colour catalogue is used by librarians from coast to coast in Canada when selecting Aboriginal books for schools and public libraries. “I’m humbled by the great response to My Mi’kmaq Mother, and am so glad that so many people are enjoying reading it,” Pellissier-Lush said.
It’s been a great month for Pellissier-Lush as she’s just completed 28 consecutive days in August of writing poetry on Mi’kmaq life and Culture. The response has been great to her writing.  All twenty eight days worth of Mi’kmaq poetry can be found on her blog”mymikmaqmother.wordpress.com” along with wonderful pictures.
